A plunger is another option, but many people don’t know how to use it properly 😊 The initial plunge should not be forceful 😁 You’re trying to force the air out of the plunger’s bell, but you don’t want it to splatter — especially if you have hardwood floors in the kitchen and bathroom 🙈 You can then start to push harder, but ensure that the plunger remains in its place. Don’t give up if you don’t see any progress after four or five plunges. Clearing blocked pipes can take several plunges before you see results. Also, make sure that there’s enough water in the toilet to cover the plunger.
Clogged drains are one of the worst things that could happen to our plumbing. Clogged drains can cause problems in the sink, bathroom, and bathtub. Because clogs block water from draining correctly, this can cause slow draining. A clogged pipe can not only be irritating but also very dangerous. A plumbing problem can become a major issue if it is not treated promptly. Pipe clogs may cause burst pipes, and can even lead to backups in your sink, toilet, or bathtub.
Based on an article by homeserve.comThe disposal may be broken or jammed if it makes a low clicking sound. Be sure to unplug the disposal before doing any work on it. Although there are many plumbing tasks that I will not do, this is one of my favorites. To begin, you will need to place an empty container under the U-shaped trap pipe underneath the sink. Water that is spilled will be collected in the bucket. With a plumber’s wrench, remove the slip nuts from both ends. This should allow you to complete the task by yourself. Once the trap has been removed, turn the container upside-down and empty the contents into a bucket. Also, you may need to look inside for other debris and the pipes holding it. A toothbrush can be used to remove the gunk. You can rinse out the trapped material with water, and then put it back together. Most cases this will suffice. Lorri BURR, September 6, 2020.
