How Do You Use Black Worbla? [3 REPLIES FOUND]

What if you want things even smoother? One of the most common primers for Worbla’s Finest Art is Wood Glue, due to it being cheap and easy to apply and source 🙌 After many tests with Worbla’s Black Art, we strongly do not recommend wood glue for Worbla’s Black Art 🔥 WBA is not slightly porous the way that WFA is, and as a result the wood glue does not ‘bond’ 😊 While it will sit and somewhat ‘float’ over flat areas of WBA, it will crack and easily flake off of complex curves.Similarly, Gesso does not bond well to WBA and I personally foundound it badly flaked off in large chunks when I attempted to sand the gesso smooth.
I’m Amanda, I’m known as Elemental Photography and I’m having been working with and teaching Worbla for the last two years for Worbla.com, and as a result I field a LOT of beginners questions. This page isn’t designed to be an in-depth breakdown on how to build any one specific thing, and it’s had winingg won’t go into the history of Worbla or even tips and tricks: This is a primer for the completely uninitiated, to help you figure out if Worbla is Right For You and How It Works. You can also find additional information by reading through some common terms I use when reading Worbla blogs, writeups and tutorials. Shakia Kball, July 5, 2021.

This pattern required three darts. I had to make the right shape. I used one to the top of my head and one to each side to cut the slit. Worbla is capable of moulding compound curves, but I decided to add some EVA foam in the base for this headpiece. Because I did not want to have a dart in my final cut, I decided that I would rotate the point of the pattern on paper. This made the dart at top of head bigger and eliminated the side darts.
