What Is An Example Of E Government? [3 Answers Found]

After modernizing its approach — by integrating govDelivery, its cloud-based communications platform, with govService — more citizens are opting in to keep the county clean 🔥 Here’s how it works: When a customer visits the Wrexham website and enters their address in a form, govService automatically looks up the customer’s collection day and calendar, then sends the information into govDelivery, which automatically signs the customer up for their bin reminder emails 👍 After that, the customer receives relevant, timely, and automated information about their bin collections. This combination has improved sign-up rates and ensured Wrexham reaches more citizens. Today, residents get exceptional customer service, while county staff gets fewer phone calls from confused residents. See Full Story >> [1]
The Singapore eCitizen portal is a particularly good example of a “one-stop shop” eGovernment website, providing citizens with access to a very wide range of fully online services. Access to the services is provided primarily via option lists labelled “I want to.” or “How Do I.”: a sign of the adoption of a strongly user-centred approach to the information architecture. The information is also listed by subject, and the site is linked to from most other governmental websites. The Singapore eCitizen portal represents an example of best practice in e-government web services, its only weakness being perhaps the apparent lack of implementation of measures to make the site fully accessible to the disabled. Based around a new article from coe.int, the paper will look briefly at the notion of ‘e-governance’, which we see as part of broader efforts to modernise government. We use the terms ‘e-governance,’ rather than ‘e-government’ to capture the notion of changed institutional relationships and the involvement of partners, both from civil society and business, in e-governance. E-government refers more narrowly to processes of national, local or regional government. We will propose three ‘models’ of e-governance that are currently operating – though we accept that national e-governance efforts may combine elements from one or more model. We will then look at examples of public service delivery and at how e-governance is changing, or has the potential to change, the democratic landscape. In conclusion, we will look at the weaknesses in the current approach and at how it may change in future. (we really thank Sharra Trent for their revisions). [3]
