He also played alongside a number of famous women, including Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Crawford, Gene Tierney, Maureen O’Hara and Maureen O’Hara. Carver Dana Andrews was an American actor known for his roles in films like ‘Laura’ and ‘The Best Years of Our Lives’. His parents were a Baptist minister who raised him and his wife in Covington county, Mississippi. Sam Houston State University was where he studied. He was a passionate singer and tried his best to be an actor before turning to singing. After much struggle, he landed an important role in the western film ‘Lucky Cisco Kid’, which was directed by H Bruce Humberstone. He played his first lead role in the movie ‘Berlin Correspondent’, after which he gained attention for several other movies like ‘Crash Dive’, and ‘The Ox-Bow Incident’. He was a star in the 1940s as a young man and achieved great success. He was a victim of alcoholism in the later part of his life, which led to his demise. He was able to control his alcoholism and became active with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. He suffered from Alzheimer’s disease during the last years of his life.
