Dana was one of many hopeful young actors who had to wait long before being able to get a role in film. Carver Dana Andrews was an American actor known for his roles in films like āLauraā and āThe Best Years of Our Livesā. His parents were a Baptist minister who raised him and his wife in Covington county, Mississippi. Sam Houston State University was where he studied. He was a passionate singer and tried his best to be an actor before turning to singing. After much struggle, he landed an important role in the western film āLucky Cisco Kidā, which was directed by H Bruce Humberstone. He played his first lead role in the movie āBerlin Correspondentā, after which he gained attention for several other movies like āCrash Diveā, and āThe Ox-Bow Incidentā. He was a star in the 1940s as a young man and achieved great success. He was a victim of alcoholism in the later part of his life, which led to his demise. He was able to control his alcoholism and became active with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. He suffered from Alzheimerās disease during the last years of his life.
