It is clear that the Thamud weren’t the only civilization to build homes in rocky mountains. The Nabatean civilisation was also found in Petra, but it was not part of the Thamud and was not destroyed. A Muslim tourist visiting Petra should have the same experience as any other historical site or monument of historic significance. Al-Hijr, Saudi Arabia was the home of more than one civilisation.
